The Real Reason For Most Depression?

"The majority of people aren’t sad because there is something wrong with their brain. They are sad because their lives suck. But rather than admit that to themselves, they run to the Doctor and beg for a diagnosis that alleviates their personal responsibility in this regard."

Feisty article with some solid arguments. IMHO. Sometimes Science and Technology are the enemies of common sense.

  1. I would have enjoyed knowing that lady. While I support the need for medication in some instances, I agree that for the most part our problems lie within. It reminds me of the old saying, "Without rain, there would be no flowers".

I find in my own life when I am sad is when I know in my heart that I am not being true to my values and "choose" to violate my inner core. Another biggie is when I allow the presence of worldly influences to affect my appreciation for what is truly important - God and family.

I have seen far too many people live their lives accumulating material things while neglecting the most important accomplishment and that is a bond with their children.

    Thanks for sharing.
