Well, that tiny sliver of media that's actually looking at relevant things, anyway. What a dichotomy from the post below. And stuff like this , you can only see outside of the country. But we don't censure news in this country. Do we?

Wow. Preacher makes Fox reporter look like a noob. Kind of refreshing to see a sane and articulate response to the superficial leading questions and thought-bites pushed by our "tough investigative american journalism." Yeah, right. What was particularly interesting, was in the face of some very insightful responses and intelligent replies, the reporter doggedly continued with his superficial agenda and shallow analysis. He left no wiser than he begun.

At one time in our history, before corporate morality and political pandering replaced journalistic integrity, stuff like this would have made front page news. It seems like the internet has come to bloom at just about the right time. We've got a wild-west, frontier medium (for how long?) that has pried information from "approved" channels, we have portable video capture devices and the unfettered (for how long?) eyes of the citizenry. We have savants tending and screening feeds from sources with varying degrees of credibility, with the ability to manufacture information indistinguishable from raw sources. A case can be built for any point of view using the same accepted formats that previously represented themselves as fair and balanced (talking heads of authorities, video streams, polls, scientific studies, branding.) What happens when mainstream media starts taking an even more active role in shaping public opinion; moving beyond spin and actually changing or omitting critical information? It's really fascinating how Fox, ABC, NBC, CNN, NYTimes and others have been blacking out Ron Paul's campaign. Even going so far as ABC and CNN actually misreporting results in the Nevada primaries. And what have you heard in the "conventional" media about the S 1959 Thought Crime bill making its way through senate? This one targets "american terrorists." With the removal of habeas corpus (didn't hear about that one? That's odd eh? It just means the government can put you in jail without a charge and without evidence. Indefinitely) and this bill proposing the use of paramilitary agencies like blackwater against US citizens with dissident views (not necessarily actions.) Isn't exactly against the law. The motive for profit, especially in spinning the "truth", is probably more dangerous than any (other) ideology. One more reason why Fox News sucks.

A military statesman once said, big lies are more believable than small ones (Hitler.) Which got me thinking about a certain claim by a certain cell-phone company that they have "the fewest dropped calls of any carrier." Now Ger-beans is probably not a good test case, or maybe he is, but just about every conversation with him and said carrier involves a dropped call at least once during the conversation. So I got curious about how one substantiates the "fewest dropped calls claim." Especially since cell phone outage statistics are private. Can't have them terrorists knowing which carrier they should use, after all. On their site, the only reference the carrier makes to the research is "based on nationwide experience among national wireless carriers." Nothing about how many in the sample, how the research was conducted or by whom. Other carriers tout that they, in fact, are the "most reliable" or the "highest ranking in customer satisfac...
