Happy birthday Zach, wherever you might be :-) Happy pre-birthday Resa! Man, we have a lot of birthdays this time of year!

Watched O Horten last night. Odd movie about a train conductor in Denmark(?) retiring after 40 years and his adjustment to some new routines. It wasn't really a comedy, per se, but had some strange characters and was one of those peeks into another life (and another culture) that's always been fascinating.

This linked into an article I was reading today on the correlation between risk taking and happiness and is loosely related to the next book in my wishlist: Counterclockwise: Mindful Health and the Power of Possibility.

Yesterday, bright-eyes and I drove to an urban section in the outskirts of Denver, where the Korean community seems to have colonized. I wandered through "HMart" drawn from one pretty bright object to another, with indecipherable brandings, while bright-eyes took a more purposeful track. We ended up with some munchies and one strange contraption for "roasting fish." I'm not sure what that means. Afterwords, we went to a most excellent mom and pop Korean BBQ restaurant then got lost a wee bit, but eventually found our way home.

And now I better get back to work on a project that started as a simple contact page for bright-eye's site and has since morphed into a peculiar experiment that I'll publish (not here) in a day or two that will probably be of interest to only about 2.5 geeks worldwide.

And I'll leave you with one of my favorite elements: Bismuth. Atomic number 83, pictured above. Not only is it purty, but it's also the active ingredient in pepto-bismol and is what gives it the pink color (they use the un-oxidized form ;-)

I'm still waiting for an answer from Norm, on how the heck they attached the sticks on these fences in Thailand but it seems like he's too busy posting about 7 headed snakes and stuff. Sheesh.
